Facing the Camera in a Beauty Contest can be challenging. Being the official
fashion Photographer for Miss Earth India contest - Photography shoot, I tried to
keep all the contestants at ease and tried to keep same parameters for all of them so that I can bring out the individuality of these
Miss Earth India Contestants. They were all different. from different parts of the Country. Some were more Beautiful while others were more expressive. So they were all beautiful in their own sense of beauty.
Many of them had faced the camera earlier during
professional advertising shoots but at the same time many were quite raw and were facing the camera for the first time during this shoot with me. Having a good
portfolio in hand helps facing a beauty contest better as you have some experience at least facing the camera and a good portfolio helps you understand your own pros and cons better letting you be more aware of the better poses and expressions you should face the camera with. Even if the Photographer is not making enough efforts on you, you still give in your best to the camera.
Another interesting aspect of this shoot was the Group photograph including all the contestants together in one frame. In such shots it's important to ensure that every contestant gets equally highlighted and not overshadowed by others.
